We are a team of licensed Christian counselors who specialize in family dynamics, trauma recovery, and transition adjustment. We are licensed to provide teletherapy to clients in DC, VA, TX, and FL. In-person sessions are in downtown DC.
The focus of our practice is to help people find freedom from the memories and fears that cause relationship difficulty and internal distress. Our therapists are trained to provide Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapeutic method helpful for anxiety disorders, traumatic reactions (PTSD), recovering from past abuse and neglect, and dealing with recurring negative beliefs.
My Christian Faith and My Professional Practice
Each of our counselors have a solid background in Bible knowledge and apply that knowledge in various ways based on each client’s needs and preferences.
Examples include:
- helping clients heal from spiritual injuries by addressing memories, beliefs, emotions, and body sensations that interfere with receiving comfort from God
- engaging the client in discussions about who God is and helping the client explore their theology as it pertains to suffering, emotions, relationship, and grace
- assisting clients in learning to engage with God both intellectually and emotionally
- challenging clients to engage with God in every aspect of daily life and decision making
- praying with or for the client during sessions
