INTRODUCTION:
Dr. Maciel is a Christian Clinical Psychologist with a holistic view about health that informs her practice (also known as integrative medicine or a biopsychosocialspiritual paradigm). She is licensed in Washington and California, and can see patients from several additional states as viewed below. She provides psychological consultation, psychodiagnostic evaluation, personality testing, therapy, and independent examination. Her therapeutic specialties are psychodynamic psychotherapy with adults, Christian psychology, addiction, and men’s psychology. Her examination specialties are disability and fitness for duty.
Dr. Maciel thinks that women and men, today especially, desire far more than what pharmaceuticals and cute counseling can change. Jesus Christ said, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." Psychotherapy is inevitably an interwoven psychological and spiritual venture, and it is clear that we need our God's will in the details. It calls for one's active effort and is generally scheduled twice weekly. However, before repeated visits are booked, initial consultation or evaluation are times for deciding whether treatment here is a good choice.

In addition to WA and CA, Dr. Maciel can see patients from the following states/territories (through PSYPACT): AL, AZ, AR, MP, CT, CO, DE, DC, GA, FL, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, ME, MD, MI, MN, MO, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WV, WI, and WY.
COST:
*Direct payment: Evaluation visits $225; Consultation and Psychotherapy visits $150. Fee is modified based on time (e.g., 30min or 1hr) and service (e.g., testing). Direct payment services carry the highest confidentiality and greatest accessibility with the doctor. However, direct patients can be reimbursed for costs by their PPO type plan by at least a reduced amount of the fee. When direct patients involve insurance in their mental health matters, total confidentiality is forfeited.
*Insurance accepted: CIGNA and BS of CA. Dr. Maciel can submit claims with these companies. For the efforts involved with "third party payor" billing processes, visits may be shorter in order to compensate for this time. Insurance patients should keep the doctor informed of important benefit changes in order to avoid getting a bill.
