My Christian Faith and My Professional Practice

At Cactus Bloom Counseling we believe that the Bible and psychology meet and support each other. The integration of the Bible and counseling involves using biblical principles to guide therapeutic practices. As Christian counselors we can incorporate scriptures, prayer and faith based perspective to support your mental and emotional well-being. This approach can provide a frame work for personal growth and health aligned with your personal beliefs.

Life is complex with pain, grief, struggles, and victories. My personal experience with healing is what led me on my journey to wanting to become a counselor. I’ve experienced what it’s like to feel connected, seen, understood and how that greatly helped me to find new meaning in life. Connection drives healing because we are not meant to walk through our pain alone. I believe your life has meaning and I am committed to helping you uncover your purpose in life.

I approach counseling from a holistic perspective, seeking to help clients understand how mind, body, and spiritual aspects play into their view of self and life. I integrate person-centered, cognitive behavioral, and dialectical behavior therapies to help provide individualized treatment for clients. I enjoy integrating my Christian faith into the counseling process for those who desire it. I consider the opportunity to work with you a privilege and an honor.

Life is a journey which brings its own unique challenges to overcome. My goal is to meet you on your journey, wherever that may be, and guide you through the process of facing life’s hardships and complications. During our sessions, I use a person-centered approach that focuses on you being the expert of your own life. I aim to cultivate an environment that allows you to feel validated in individual experiences and build a resilient future that you can enjoy. Together we will work to move forward to promote a healthy mental wellbeing. By removing bias and judgement we can collaborate in a safe space where you can explore difficult life events and emotions that are weighing you down or preventing further personal growth and fulfillment. I will walk beside you in support; our partnership is designed to help you find resilience and bloom.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have the training and experience that can help you find the skills, confidence, and support to move forward.

Starting counseling takes a lot of courage and I celebrate your decision to begin this journey. Wherever you are at today, you can have hope for the future. Much of that hope comes from a better understanding of yourself and the many experiences that have influenced who you are now. As renowned psychologist Irvin Yalom said, “self-awareness is a supreme gift, a treasure as precious as life.” My role is to help you unlock that gift of self-awareness so you can start to bloom.

As a Licensed Associate Counselor and adjunct faculty, I blend both mental health counseling and education to help clients learn about themselves and move forward with a renewed sense of clarity and purpose. In our sessions, we will explore areas that are most meaningful to you and identify any obstacles getting in the way of your ability to thrive. Together, we will create goals and find strategies that work for you.

Every client is unique, so I tailor my therapeutic approach to best fit you and your needs.
