About

My goal as a provider is to have a confidential space where people can open up about their challenges and be met with grace and support; to find healing and growth.

I specialize in helping adults and children with OCD. I also help parents navigate the challenges this may present in the home. In addition, I work with individuals who struggle with phobias (e.g. fear of vomiting), anxiety and avoidance, Tourette Syndrome, and other OCD related problems.

Education and Experience:

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of Minnesota and have been practicing for over 8 years as a psychotherapist. My experience prior to being a psychotherapist includes doing Christian mission work and working as a nurse. My therapy practice focuses on helping children and adults with OCD and related disorders. I have a Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology Degree and Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth.

I have also received intensive trainings in the treatment of tic disorders, hair pulling and skin picking disorders, and OCD. I’m a graduate of the General BTTI and the Pediatric BTTI intensive training courses hosted by the IOCD Foundation, a graduate of Tourette Syndrome Behavior Therapy Institute (TS-BTI) course through the Tourette Association of America , and have a Certificate of Completion of the Professional Training Institute Cognitive Behavioral Therapy -based training in the Treatment of Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors. I have provided continuing education to other providers on the treatment of OCD, and implementing family interventions. My experience also includes developing and running a 4-week educational course for parents with children with OCD.

My Christian Faith and My Professional Practice

As a Christian, I love being able to provide spiritual care for those who want this included in their therapy.

For many, finding a Christian therapist who understands the importance of their faith and values is very important, in addition to providing a Christian perspective.

My desire for people seeking Christian counseling is to find a place where there is integration, where deep truths about God's word can be integrated into therapy and everyday life. Where we can explore concerns, God's truth, and find gratitude for all the ways He provides healing. I believe the "regular" parts of our life are also sacred. "For in him we live and move and have our being" (Acts 17:28).
