Questions to consider.
Are you going through a transition in your career, relationships, family? Perhaps you don't like your job, but are afraid to rock the boat. Are you retiring and don't know what's next? Maybe you are just starting or changing your career and would like to feel more clear and excited about your plans. Maybe you are leaving or starting a relationship and want to do it "right" this time. All Transitions have three stages we need to address. Our past experiences with change create fear or excitement. Knowing your old patterns will help create the life YOU want now.

I'm a Counseling Psychologist and experienced Executive Coach. Whether I am helping a leader to become more effective; someone develop a new dream for their life; another person deal with loss and grief or learn to celebrate their successes, or partners create a more loving partnership, I am thrilled when my clients start to love and care for themselves, as God does.
I have developed a Lifeline process (with additional assessments) that quickly helps my clients (usually in 3-4 hours) understand the pain and fears they may be experiencing. Once they know their passions and begin to recognize how their whole life works together for good in the context of God’s love for them, they can begin to see themselves and their futures with new energy and purpose.

Individuals
I work with people from teenagers through as old as you can be! I help people to not only explore the things that are making them feel depressed, anxious, untrusting, have PTSD, but also help to explore creating a different career, or plan how to enjoy your retirement.
I also coach people in leadership roles in churches, businesses of all sizes and types. My coaching is not "surface", but will help you to see what you may have decided you must do to keep yourself safe early in your life that is now creating your leadership patterns. With this knowledge, making changes is much easier. (I have been coaching since 1991). It works best when I work with the leader and their team. Amazing things can happen!!

Couples
Using all the tools I've mentioned, and especially one I haven't: the Interpersonal Flexibility Circle, that helps people map their relationships and learn how to be more functional and loving with themselves and their partners, I use the lifeline, which then gets shared with your partner to understand some of the "glitches" you are experiencing. I can do the couple's coaching/therapy online or in person if you are close enough to Durham, NC. I have had success working with many couples. I have also gone to their homes.

Groups
I work with teams, boards, church groups and other types of groups to become more highly functioning and accomplish the goals and create the agreements that they need to support each other and their organizations.

Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist

I deal with all kinds of people, but I find that I have the most "leverage" with other Christians! There are truths we say we believe, and perhaps checking in on those can help to see how we can be struggling in our lives. For instance, A Christian SAYS that they believe that God loves them and has forgiven us, and wants us to love ourselves as He does, so that we can love others fully. But I have Christian clients who cannot say "I love myself".

I know I couldn't love myself for a long time. So one reason I am a professional Christian Therapist is Romans 8:28. The ALL THINGS in my life includes depression, suicidal thoughts, ADHD not found til late, running away from God, being rebellious, and then finally coming back in a new way. Every single thing that I went through has been perfectly worked into the work He guided me to be doing since 1980. I am so thankful.

Currently, I will complete forms for insurance but you pay up front, but am not on any forums. I will be getting on the multi-state licensure sharing program soon so that I could see others outside of NC. Stay tuned.
