Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist

I have always known Jesus as my heavenly Father since I was a young girl. My family life was mostly chaotic and I felt confused, alone, and sad so I talked and cried to God a lot of the time. He guided me through much strife and turmoil and blessed me with strength and the desire to want to help and understand others and their struggles. I believe I was always the little therapist; friends and later, adults always flocked to confide in me. When I decided to enter college, the private faith based schools were a natural good fit and important to me. Oddly though I initially pursued a business degree as my major. About halfway through the program God spoke to me. It was through literature He made His Will for me crystal clear - and I changed my major to psychology. I listened. I knew my purpose and dream would be realized. Upon graduation from Graduate School (Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA), I opened the doors to Private Practice in 1998 and my profession has been a blessing. The power of the human spirit is humbling.
