I offer therapy to children, adolescents, adults, couples from premarital and conflicted couples, and families.

Training and experience are the foundation for every therapist.

~ A Master of Arts in Counseling concentrating in Marriage and Family Therapy and
Licensed Professional Counseling from the Assemblies of God Theological
~ A Post-Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy from MidAmerica Nazarene University.
~ Training with Rise Van Fleet in Filial Play Therapy.
~ Training to Level II in Theraplay with Phyllis Booth and Marlo Revel-Winstead.
~ Training at North Texas University in Child Centered Play Therapy.
~ Training to Level III in The Gottman Method of Couples Therapy by John and Julie Gottman.

My experience includes:
~ Internship at a sliding scale Counseling Center working with all ages.
~ Pregnancy Center working with teens in crisis and their families.
~ A Counseling Pastor in a large church where I was also Director of Pastoral Care working with all ages, Instructor of Premarital classes and counseling as well as overseeing the recovery group ministry.
~ Private Practice, therapy for children and teens, and all ages of individuals, couples, and families.
~ I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the State of Kentucky.
Personally, I have been married for 37 years to my husband, Jim and we have five adult children together and seven grandchildren.

Why I Became a Christian Therapist

Having a relationship with Christ has been central to my life for as long as I remember. As a child I had the gift of faith and I believed without question. I have navigated my life with Christ at the center and so it was natural when my youngest child went to all-day school I would enter seminary and begin my training to become a Christian Therapist.
I was asked to become a pastor and Director of the Pastoral Care Department of a large church as I was finishing a Masters in Counseling. When my family moved to Louisville, Kentucky I finished a Masters of Divinity in Theology and then started a private practice here that was very congruent with my responsibilities of wife and mother. I have been greatly blessed with my practice. Two years ago a Psychiatrist who I had been referring my clients to asked me to join him and two others in his new office. I did and now we have 13 Christian mental health providers and 4 offices!
