About
Many people come to therapy feeling stuck. You may find yourself overwhelmed by anxiety, self-criticism, shame, perfectionism, or patterns you can't seem to break—even though you genuinely want things to be different. Perhaps you find yourself overthinking, people-pleasing, procrastinating, shutting down emotionally, struggling in relationships, or feeling disconnected from yourself and the life you hoped to create.
You may be someone who others see as capable and dependable, yet internally you feel exhausted from trying to hold everything together. You may wonder why certain situations affect you so deeply, why the same struggles keep showing up, or why knowing what you "should" do doesn't always translate into being able to change.
I don't believe these patterns mean something is wrong with you. More often, they are ways your mind and body learned to protect you. Anxiety may be trying to keep you safe. Perfectionism may be protecting you from failure or rejection. People-pleasing may have helped you maintain connection. Even the habits you're most frustrated by often developed for a reason.
The patterns that frustrate us most often make the most sense once they are understood.
My goal is not simply to help you manage symptoms, but to help you understand the deeper emotions, experiences, and beliefs beneath the surface. Together, we'll explore the parts of your story that may still be shaping how you see yourself, relate to others, and navigate life today. As these patterns are met with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment, lasting change becomes possible.
I especially enjoy working with thoughtful, high-capacity adults who carry a lot of responsibility and want to better understand themselves. Many of my clients are busy professionals navigating anxiety, perfectionism, self-worth struggles, relational patterns, procrastination, or feeling stuck despite outward success.
I also have a deep passion for working with parents of young children as they navigate the joys and challenges of family life. Becoming a parent has a unique way of bringing our own story to the surface. The exhaustion, responsibility, and love of parenting can reveal old wounds, unmet needs, and protective patterns we may not have realized were there. Marriage, close relationships, and parenting often become mirrors—showing us places where we still need healing and offering opportunities to grow into the people and parents we hope to become.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your unique story. I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment-based therapy, psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed care. Together, we will work toward greater self-understanding, healthier relationships, and a deeper sense of freedom from patterns that no longer serve you.
As a Christian therapist, I offer faith integration for clients who desire it. I believe God meets us with compassion in the places where we feel wounded, ashamed, afraid, or exhausted. Rather than using faith to dismiss pain or rush healing, I believe emotional healing and spiritual growth can unfold together as we honestly explore both our story and God's presence within it. Whether faith is central to our work or simply an important part of your life, I strive to honor your beliefs while providing thoughtful, evidence-based care.
Reaching out for therapy takes courage. You do not have to continue carrying everything alone. Whether you are seeking freedom from old patterns, hoping to strengthen your relationships, navigating a challenging season of life, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, I would be honored to walk alongside you in your journey toward healing and growth.
My Christian Faith and My Professional Practice
My Christian faith is the foundation of both my life and my work as a therapist. I believe every person is created in the image of God with inherent dignity, worth, and the capacity for healing and transformation. While our stories often include wounds, fear, shame, and protective patterns that leave us feeling stuck, I believe these struggles can be approached with curiosity, compassion, and truth rather than condemnation.
I do not see faith and psychology as competing explanations for human suffering, but as complementary gifts that can work together to foster deep and lasting healing. God created us as embodied and relational beings, and I believe He often works through both the power of His Spirit and the wisdom revealed through sound psychological care. Rather than separating spiritual formation from emotional health, I seek to help clients experience both together.
Many of the struggles people face today are not signs of weakness or personal failure, but understandable responses to painful experiences, broken relationships, and unmet needs. As these wounded places are met with compassion, truth, and God's presence, people often discover greater freedom, healthier relationships, and a deeper connection with the person God created them to be.
When clients desire it, I integrate prayer, Scripture, and spiritual reflection into therapy while maintaining evidence-based clinical care. My hope is to provide a space where faith can be explored honestly, emotional wounds can be brought into the light, and clients can experience both the grace of Christ and the healing that comes from being deeply known.
