About

Hi, my name is Michelle Corey Colson, MA, MA, LPCA. I am a psychotherapist, life coach, and Christian Counselor, as well as the owner of Beach Counseling & Wellness Group of SC (BCWG) located near Market Commons in Myrtle Beach. As a growing mental health practice, it is my vision to create a warm, inviting, and nonjudgmental environment for clients seeking psychotherapy, counseling, or life coaching. My approach to mental health wellness and coaching is relaxed and does not use a one-size-fits-all approach.

Our counseling and coaching practice focuses on ADHD, Autism (Level 1), trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, mood disorders, premarital/marital counseling, couples counseling, and Christian Counseling (SYMBIS). Moreover, we specialize in child/adolescent therapy (ages 10+) and life transitions in adulthood. BCWG provides in-person counseling sessions in our Myrtle Beach office and virtual sessions within the state of South Carolina. We take a holistic whole-body approach to mental health wellness using personalized therapeutic approaches based on a client’s needs

As someone who lives with ADHD and comes from 25+ years of working in corporate America, I understand how a heightened, stressed, and overstimulated environment affects the mind, body, and spirit. Therefore, I practice from an integrated holistic viewpoint to help align these three dimensions of the individual. My therapeutic approach to counseling is person-centered therapy (Rogerian) with beliefs rooted in psychodynamic theory (Eriksonian & Adlerian). Depending on the needs of the client, I will integrate other therapies such as CBT, Mindfulness, Narrative, Somatic therapy, and Christian counseling upon request.

As a proud graduate of Liberty University, I have an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (With High Distinction) and a second MA in Human Services Counseling and Life Coaching (With High Distinction) in addition to a GCPC in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University as well. I specialize in several areas of mental health therapy and hold designations as a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP), a Certified Anxiety Informed Professional (CAIP), a Certified Grief Informed Professional (CGP), a Certified Mindfulness Informed Professional (CMIP), a Certified Autism Informed Professional (ASDI), a Certified Youth Mental Health Specialist (CYMHS), and hold a diploma in Youth Mental Health Coaching (YMHC) focusing on the parent/child relationship. Furthermore, I am a member of Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society (CSI) and The American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). Presently, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) in South Carolina and am completing my Doctorate in Christian Counseling (D. Min.).

I look forward to meeting you and working together toward finding your inner peace. Take a chance on yourself today...This is "Where Hope Begins"!
