About

Richard Blankenship, LPC, NCC, CPCS, CBTS, CSRRS is the clinical director for Capstone Center for Counseling, DBT & Relational Trauma and Capstone Center for Sexual Recovery & Transformation; a program for male addicts, female addicts, spouses/partners of sex addicts, couples in recovery, and services for children & adolescents.

Richard is currently on the board for the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health (SASH) where he chairs the Advanced Topics in Problematic Sexual Behavior committee. He is a vice president in the organization. At SASH, Richard serves on the credentialing, continuing education, and governance committees. Richard is one of the founders of the International Association of Certified Sexual Addiction Specialists (IACSAS) where he served as president for 13 years, and a founding board member of the Association for Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists (APSATS) where he served for over 4 years. He developed the first graduate course to be taught on sexual addiction along with a colleague and guest lectures in a variety of University level courses. Richard is a frequent guest on Atlanta area radio & television programs dealing with sexual addiction, spouses/families of addicts, and domestic violence. He is the author of the LIFE Guide for Young Men, and a Journey Through Secrets. He is the co-author of Spouses of Sex Addicts: Hope for the Journey (book & workbook) and the LIFE Guide for Couples.

Richard holds two masters degrees; an M.Ed. from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and an M.A. From Harding University Graduate School. Richard is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with the state of Georgia, a nationally certified counselor (NCC) with the National Board of Certified Counselors, a certified clinical hypnotherapist (CCH), a certified clinical sexual & relational recovery specialist (CSRRS), and a certified clinical betrayal trauma specialist (CBTS) through the Addo Recovery network. Richard is also a certified professional counselor supervisor (CPCS) through the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia. He is married with two children and has worked with churches and counseling centers for over 30 years.

Sarah Ramsay, MA, LMFT, BC-TMH holds a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercer University, School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA and also a B.A. in Human Development and Family Studies from Samford University. She is one of our affair recovery specialists in Dunwoody.

Sarah has experience working with adolescents, adults, families and couples in a variety of areas, including anxiety, depression, panic attacks, trauma, relationship concerns and general stress. Specifically, she has training in EMDR, a style of therapy recognized by the American Psychiatric Association that enable people to heal from the stubborn symptoms and emotional distress resulting from troubling life experiences.

Sarah has training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, which primarily works to restore romantic relationships and has been found to be effective between family members as well and is a Prepare Enrich therapist for Premarital counseling. Sarah is also a Board Certified Telemental Health P
