About

Clarity Centers is an outpatient psychotherapy practice that places values and spirituality in a prime position. Many who seek us are Christian, and want to have their values and outlook respected and incorporated into treatment. Our staff comes from many training experiences: cognitive psychology, counseling, social work, pastoral care, and others.

We also emphasize the central nature of the therapeutic relationship that forms between counselor and counselee, rather than a "recipe" or checklist of things a counselor might recommend. We see this process as emphasizing the "Who" that is involved in change, rather than the "How" of change primarily.

In addition to counseling, we provide psychological testing, groups, career coaching, couples counseling. In 2021 we are also offering a unique technological treatment called Synchronized Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation.

I work with both individuals and couples in therapy, from an attachment model. I value faith, and I'm happy to integrate Christian perspectives into therapy if that is desired. Additionally, I provide psychological assessment and I believe it is most helpful when we work together to better understand the client, to foster insight, growth, and self-esteem. My practice is entirely tele-health for Maryland.

Dr. Castro's training program was The Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University. Rosemead is well known for integrating the practice of the Christian faith into the process of psychotherapy.

As a licensed professional counselor, I bring many life experiences to the therapeutic process since I have also worked at a high school teacher and realtor. Working with clients with a wide range of problems including anxiety, depression, relationship issues and trauma or emotional abuse is very fulfilling and challenging. I think it is important for a good therapist to be friendly, empathetic, a good listener and above all respectful.

My approach is eclectic since I tailor our sessions to meet the specific needs of the client. I especially find satisfaction in encouraging and empowering them.
I am very mindful of the fact that growing and working through issues with a therapist can be very challenging for many people. Part of my goal is to make the therapeutic process as easy and compassionate as possible.
