Lane began as an Ordained minister of the United Methodist Church with Master of Divinity from Emory University, Master of Community Counseling from Georgia State University, Licensed Professional Counselor state of Georgia, Chaplain II from American Counseling Association, twelve years education and training before beginning private practice as Senior Mental Health Clinician and Marriage and Family Counselor. Thirty-four years in private practice has continued to fascinate and motivate him to learn more efficient methods.

For instance, having a marriage perfect enough for a couple is easy due to Lane's latest self-counseling book The Big White Dog with Green Eyes. It is just a matter of following easy directions. LOVE is bigger than marriage. We use the pettiness of our selfishness to stay stuck in marriage as if it is the most important relationship. It is not. Our relationship with Jesus is the most important. Was Jesus selfish and petty? No, he was always giving, teaching and encouraging to bring people to God by loving acts. He was our example and we must sacrifice our selfish desires for His higher purpose. Following Jesus is a never-ending adventure that can not be matched by expensive vacations and fancy clothes.

Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist

Why I Became a Professional Christian Counselor

The first three churches I served were not close to offices of professional counselors, so I had to become the needed professional Christian counselor for the community. I obtained supervisory training per case from ministers and chaplains and learned a lot over those years. Later, I chose to move in the direction of professional counseling for Persistent Serious Mental Illness such as personality disorders, bipolar disorders, psychoses and dissociative illnesses. Eventually those studies brought me back to individual, couples and family counseling especially in need of Christian values and faith. I eagerly await those who need my services. I give each family and couple clients three hours per week in resolving issues.
