About
We are all imperfect beings living in a broken world-and, let’s face it. The struggle is real!
I’m Summer, with Desert Soulwork Christian Counseling. I provide a safe, convenient, and confidential space for my brothers and sisters in Christ to receive expert mental health support that also glorifies God. Whether you're a woman juggling it all, a young adult struggling to find purpose, a First Responder carrying the weight of the world, or even a fellow therapist needing to let it all out, I’ve got you covered. I utilize evidence-based therapeutic practices coupled with Christian beliefs and practices – because sometimes, you need more than just good vibes and positive affirmations to navigate life's challenges. Together we’ll unpack the complexities of things, find clarity in the chaos, and forge a path forward through a Biblical worldview. With 15 years of clinical experience, I’ve helped folks find resolve with clinical concerns including anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, burnout, relationship issues, stress management, and self-esteem (just to name a few).
Squeezing therapy into your busy schedule can feel impossible. I offer virtual counseling because sometimes your car or couch is the most convenient "office" you've got. So, ditch the awkward waiting room and commute! You have enough on your plate, let’s schedule a session that truly works for you.
Free 15-minute consultations are offered via phone or video conference. This allows us to discuss what you want out of therapy and how I can help. I HIGHLY recommend scheduling a consultation. No sense in wasting money on a session if we aren’t a good match.
Therapy can often seem like an unaffordable luxury. However, I accept most major health insurance plans, FSA/HSA, and credit cards for payment. I can also provide you with Superbill to submit to your health insurance provider for out-of-network coverage reimbursement.
Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist
I founded Desert Soulwork Christian Counseling in response to the increasing secularization of community mental health services. As a Christian, I believe that we are all made in God's image. We have a mind, body, and soul that are all interconnected in that reflection. The ugly truth is that most mental health services today do not share this belief-and most therapists are uncomfortable discussing such matters. Desert Soulwork Christian Counseling was created to provide a space for fellow Christians to navigate life's most difficult challenges in a manner that respects, supports, and incorporates their spiritual beliefs. It only makes sense. Afterall, we invite God into so much else in our lives, shouldn't he be in therapy too?
