I am in private practice in a very comfortable office in Tucson at the NW corner of Ina Rd. & La Cholla Blvd. I hold a doctorate in Counseling Psychology, have over forty years of experience as a Christian-based counselor and pastor, and five of my college years include seminary and Bible college. With clients who value faith in Christ, I integrate biblical principles and techniques, including prayer and the use of scriptures.
Using evidence based counseling models and techniques, I've found "anything that works" is either spoken of directly or illustrated in the Bible. I attribute dignity to all people, and I know that "everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." I encourage couples to "hold a crown over each other's heads," as I do with all clients. My motto is "warm and human first, professional always."
My Christian Faith and My Professional Practice
I love to integrate my favorite counseling models with Christian faith. Through hard times and times of celebration, God never stops drawing me closer to Him. Along with my counseling experience and education, I bring to bear what I've learned through pastoral duties into the counseling office. (i mostly bring my relationship with Christ!) Along with three peer-reviewed journal articles, I've recently written a book about miracles called "God Is in the Crazy," available on Amazon. I have a passion for writing music and you can search You Tube Music for some of my songs. I recommend first looking for "Do You Love Me?", "Take Me to Your Planet", and "Tell Me Again." (Search with my name, "Chet Weld" and those song titles.) Most of my podcasts and articles can be found on PreachItTeachIt.org and Reclaimed Story. Most of my blogs are on drchetweld.com.
