I’m LaKeeta Behn-Vasquez, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California and founder of Faith & Relationships Marriage & Family Therapy. I work with individuals, couples, and families who may know what they believe and even know how they want to respond, yet still find themselves caught in recurring conflict, disconnection, fear, mistrust, or emotional reactions. That gap between what we know and what we live is often where deeper work begins.
At Faith & Relationships, I help clients look beneath the patterns they can see to understand what is happening within. My work is guided by The Inner Being Framework™, a biblically grounded approach that brings together biblical truth, spiritual formation, attachment science, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). In our work together, we explore the emotions, beliefs, attachment needs, and relational patterns shaping how you experience God, yourself, and the people who matter most—because the goal is not simply to behave differently, but to understand what is shaping how you live and love from the inside out.
My Christian Faith and My Professional Practice
My Christian faith shapes how I understand people, relationships, and the process of change. I believe we can sincerely know biblical truth and still struggle to experience that truth in the places where we feel hurt, afraid, disconnected, or uncertain.
In our sessions, I seek to honor both biblical truth and the reality of your lived experience without rushing past either one. Biblical truth grounds my perspective; your goals and preferences guide how explicitly faith enters the therapy room. When desired, our work may include Scripture, prayer, and spiritual reflection as we explore how your relationship with God intersects with what is happening within you and in your relationships.
