About
Hi, I’m Ruth
An integrative bilingual (Spanish-English) psychotherapist offering Christ-centered care for women navigating life’s most tender transitions. I serve as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Pastoral Counselor, and Hospital Chaplain, and my work is deeply shaped by my own journey through missionary service, divorce and remarriage, and the sacred roles of mother and grandmother.
I specialize in polyvagal-informed care, trauma-sensitive therapy, and neuroscience-based emotional healing. But more than that—I walk with women through what I have lived and overcome myself. I believe we can only guide others through terrain we have personally traversed.
“Quien se deja aconsejar, llega a viejo.”
(Those who accept wise counsel walk farther and wiser.)
“Buy the truth, and do not sell it; also wisdom and instruction and understanding.”
— Proverbs 23:23
This verse reminds us that healing requires investment—of time, trust, and courage. Truth is not just taught; it’s embodied. Wisdom is not just spoken; it’s lived. For my work as a Christian counselor, this verse beautifully aligns with my mission: helping women reclaim truth about their identity, receive wisdom for their season, and walk in understanding that brings peace to both body and spirit.

Why It Works
God designed our nervous systems for connection, safety, and renewal. I help women gently reshape their stress responses, reconnect with their God-given identity, and cultivate rhythms of healing that honor both science and soul.
Whether you're in a season of loss, growth, or calling, I offer structured, spiritual-led support that honors your story and your faith. Healing is not just possible—it’s holy. And it begins with someone who’s walked the road and knows the way.
Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist
I became a Christian counselor because I believe healing is sacred work—and that the human soul longs not only for relief, but for restoration. My calling emerged at the intersection of deep compassion, clinical training, and a lively faith that sees every person as beloved, worthy, and capable of transformation.
As a woman of faith, I have witnessed how Scripture, prayer, and the presence of God can hold space for grief, guide people through transitions, and awaken resilience. I wanted to offer more than coping strategies—I wanted to walk with women through the valleys and thresholds of life, helping them reconnect with their God-given identity and purpose.
Christian counseling allows me to integrate the wisdom of neuroscience with the truth of the Gospel. It gives me language to speak to both the nervous system and the spirit. Whether I am supporting a mother navigating burnout, a caregiver learning boundaries, or a leader discerning her next step, I do so with the conviction that healing is not just possible—it’s holy.
This work is not just a profession for me. It’s a ministry of presence, a practice of sacred listening, and a way of honoring the image of God in every story entrusted to me.
