About
Healing Wounds of the Heart with Love & Grace
I help women who carry the impact of a “mother wound” — experiences of emotional neglect, criticism, or abuse that continue to shape how they see themselves and move through the world.
Often, this shows up as anxiety, depression, perfectionism, people-pleasing, overworking, or a constant sense of not being enough. There may be an inner critic or taskmaster that feels relentless. These protective patterns once served a purpose, but now feel exhausting and imprisoning.
I guide women to gently uncover and heal these early emotional wounds so they can move from striving to serenity — from performance-based worth to grounded identity.
My work integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), Expressive Arts Therapy, and principles from Adult Children of Alcoholics & Dysfunctional Families (ACA), including the Loving Parent framework.
Through IFS, we explore the protective “parts” of you that developed to manage pain — the achiever, the caretaker, the perfectionist — as well as the parts that numb or soothe when distress feels overwhelming. Rather than shaming these patterns, we approach them with compassion and curiosity so deeper healing can occur.
Expressive arts — including journaling, poetry, visual art, music, and movement — allow healing to move beyond words and access the deeper places of the heart.
With over 25 years of experience across outpatient mental health, addiction treatment, inpatient psychiatry, medical social work, and foster care, I bring both clinical depth and compassionate presence to our work together.
Healing is possible. Freedom is possible. You do not have to walk this alone.
My Christian Faith and My Professional Practice
As a Christian therapist, my faith informs how I understand identity, suffering, and transformation. I believe we are created with inherent dignity and worth, even when early wounds distort that truth. For clients who desire it, we can integrate prayer, Scripture, and reflection on how your relationship with God intersects with your healing. I also provide space to process spiritual wounds or questions safely and honestly.
