About

I have 40+ years experience working in the field of mental health. I am a Licensed Psychologist. I provide in office sessions and online video sessions. I treat individuals, couples, families, children, teens, and older adults (age 65+). I treat most conditions. However, I have a passion for working with repairing and strengthening marriage and family relationships as well as treating anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia, OCD, and PTSD. Earlier in my life I suffered from Panic Attacks and OCD and having gone through treatment myself I learned what was working and what was not working and have an affinity toward those who are struggling with debilitating anxiety in its various forms and types of anxiety disorders. I also specialize in working with , Military Veterans, Depression, and Bipolar Disorder. My treatment approaches draw from a variety of interventions including: Behavioral Approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy and Exposure Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), EFT, EMDR, Energy Psychology (within a Christian emphasis), Biofeedback, Family Systems, Communication and Conflict Resolution Training, Relaxation Training, Mindfulness, and Psychodynamic approaches. I also am available to provide Psychological Testing (ages 6 - 80+). I provide testing for IQ assessments, Personality Assessment, Psychological Disorders, ADHD, Autism, Learning Disorders, Probate Court evaluations, Disability, and Mental Competency Exams).

My standard charge for services is $120 per 60 minute session (50 minutes face to face time and 10 minutes reviewing notes prior to session and completing notes after face to face portion of session). I am an in network provider for United Healthcare, Optum, and Medicare. I am out of network provider for a number of other insurances and you can check with your insurance company to see if I am a reimbursable provider through your health care insurance. Whether you use insurance or not I strive to keep payments affordable. I have purposely tried to kept my prices lower than a number of other licensed psychologists to help meet this need. You can use cash, check credit card, debit card to pay for services. By providing both in office and Online Video sessions this is often useful for individuals struggling with debilitating anxiety or physical condition) which prevents them from traveling or leaving their residence.

I address individual and relational patterns that affect the health of body, mind, soul, and spirit. I believe too many times we overuse pharmaceuticals to treat mental conditions when other approaches can be be used without dangerous side effects.

I am a Christian and it is the core value within my life. I have a faith perspective that is inclusive toward all rather than exclusive of any. Your relationship with God is between you and God rather than any particular Church. I will respect your individual spiritual beliefs.

My Christian Faith and My Professional Practice

I accepted Christ at the age of 21 while attending a Campus Crusade for Christ retreat in Fresno California. It has made all of the difference in my life. Before that Scripture was just words and rules to try to follow, after that, I realized that it is a personal relationship and that I could invite Christ into my life and be empowered through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. I accept other people's spiritual practices; however, I often tell people from different persuasions that in my personal life I follow a Jewish Carpenter, and that Jesus is my portal leading to an awakened, empowered, and positively lived life. I am non denominational, although over the years I have attended, Catholic, Baptist, Nazarene, and a variety of non-denominational churches. I believe in a Triune God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit). I believe that Christ came into the world, lived, died on the cross, and resurrected for us to be reconnected to God. I believe that Christ died for our sins and through his death and resurrection and inviting him into our lives we are given the free gift of salvation. I believe in the ongoing presence of the Holy Spirit who guides us and empowers us to lead the Christian life. It is a journey, not without its ups and downs, but the promise that God is always with us even though sometimes we lose our way.
