About

My name is John-Paul Vu and I work at Premier Insight Counseling under the supervision of Michael White LPC-S and Rhonda Porro LMFT. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients to work through life's challenges. I am excited to take the knowledge and experience I've acquired and empower my clients to live a full life. I believe that my clients are the experts of their own lives and therefore have all the skills to overcome their challenges and transform their lives.
I enjoy being able to build a collaborative experience where we can work together to discover strengths, achieve goals, and create new meaning. I have experience in working with individuals and couples from all walks of life and I am especially passionate about helping couples to better understand the patterns that keep them stuck in conflict.

I primarily utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy in my work with individuals and couples. I received my Master's of Advanced Study in Marriage and Family Therapy from Arizona State University. I am currently under clinical supervision working towards independent licensure.

Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist

It can be hard to find a space to share about how your spiritual life impacts your personal life. I want to be able to provide that safe space for my clients to explore those bigger questions such as: Who is God to me? What is my relationship with Him right now? What do I want my relationship with Him to be like? Why is my life the way it is right now? Where does God fit into this picture? I look forward to journeying with my clients to discover a deeper relationship with God and themselves.
