My Christian Faith and My Professional Practice

When you're ready to begin counseling, it can be overwhelming to choose the right person to help. A person’s faith is often the most important aspect in the search for a counselor. This may be because your faith is central to who you are and you can't imagine separating faith and counseling. You may want your issue to be viewed through a Biblical lens and wish to receive guidance in accordance with God’s Word. Perhaps you're seeking a counselor who is a Christian because you want to know your foundational beliefs align even though you aren't necessarily looking for prayer and Scripture to be integrated into the counseling experience. Maybe you find yourself in a faith crisis or you’ve been wounded by people who profess to be Christians but seem to be hypocritical or have been abusive. Perhaps you were raised in a Christian home but felt it was too legalistic.

Whether the Christian faith is your greatest asset or the thing that has most wounded you, if you are looking for a counselor who has a solid understanding of the Bible, the gospel, and how to integrate the Christian faith into mental health counseling, Joshua Tree may be just what you're looking for!
