About

Keri Powell Therapy has been part of Central Illinois for over 17 years. We didn’t start as a large group practice. We grew into one because the need was real and God is good.

Many therapists within the practice of 40+ clinicians are eager to offer Christian Counseling. Our therapists are licensed, experienced, and carefully matched to the people they work with. We treat everything from everyday anxiety and relationship strain to trauma, grief, and substance use. And we do it without making you feel like a case number.

Whether you’re in one of our central IL cities, joining us from a small town nearby, or connecting from home via telehealth, there’s a place for you here.

As a veteran, I bring a unique perspective to my work in mental health. I find Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing to be particularly effective in helping people overcome challenges and achieve positive change.

I have a strong passion for working with youth and young adults, but I am fully committed to assisting individuals of all ages and backgrounds. My values and morals are deeply rooted in my Christian faith, and they guide my approach to supporting individuals and families. I am privileged to help people lead healthier and more fulfilling lives by prioritizing their mental health, well-being, and personal growth. People are incredibly powerful, and I aim to guide them in discovering that power and embracing their greatness within.

With more than 25 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois, I enjoy working with individuals of all ages, as well as couples and families. My holistic approach draws from mindfulness, Twelve Step principles, and expressive therapies to help clients navigate anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and relationship challenges. I'm also more than happy to also offer Christian counseling for clients who request a faith-based approach.

I believe therapy should be a safe place to move beyond shame, blame, anger, and painful patterns toward greater understanding, acceptance, and accountability. I help clients develop healthier ways to manage difficult emotions, communicate with confidence and respect, and make choices that support lasting healing and positive change.

With a background in the fine arts, I especially enjoy incorporating music, art, and movement for clients who may find traditional talk therapy challenging. My goal is to meet each person wh

I have experience working with a wide range of mental health concerns and diverse populations, with a particular passion for supporting women through anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, co-dependency, personality disorders, and relationship concerns. I believe therapy can be a powerful opportunity for self-discovery, self-acceptance, and meaningful change, and I enjoy helping clients uncover new insights and possibilities along the way.

My approach is individualized and collaborative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and guided imagery. I believe in the connection between mind, body, and spirit and tailor treatment to each client’s needs, comfort level, and goals. For clients who desire it, I also offer Christian counseling and incorporate faith-based principles into therapy. Above all, I strive to create a safe, compassionate environment where clients feel genuinely heard, accept
