About
Jennifer Konzen, PsyD, LMFT, CST, CCDC. Dr. Konzen is a licensed marriage and family therapist, a certified sex therapist, and a certified chemical dependency counselor. Jennifer teaches and trains internationally on mental health, trauma, self-care and burnout/compassion fatigue, the spiritual disciplines, counseling sexuality and counseling addiction. She is a two-time nationally award-winning researcher and professor and Dean at Mountain Theological Seminary. Dr. Konzen is the author of The Art of Intimate Marriage and Redeemed Sexuality, the newly released The Ransomed Journey: Couples Recovery from Addiction, and a contributing-author to Journey of the Soul. Jennifer lives with her family in beautiful San Diego, California where she has been involved with shepherding and advising to the married, youth and family, and teaching ministries.
Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist
I had provided support to individuals and couples for decades as a lay ministry leader. I began to realize that as I was referring them to therapy at times, I wanted to become the therapist they were referred to. Integrating pastoral care into therapeutic care has been a meaningful journey for me as I support those who honor me with their stories.
