My name is Gloria Stephen. I obtain my first degree in Practical Nursing where I worked mostly with geriatric patients for several years. After marrying my husband I returned to college to complete my Bachelor degree in Religious Studies with a minor in Sociology. A few years later after becoming more involved in church, I returned to college and obtained my Master in Divinity and served as pastor at two small churches for a total of twelve years. Later in my career, I felt the need to do more counseling than preaching, and once again I returned to college to obtained my second Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling from Maryville University in St. Louis Missouri. Throughout my twenty-five plus years of counseling I have been blessed to work with individuals with various challenges in life including: substance use disorders; court mandated; co-occurring disorders (mental health disorders (depression; anxiety; PTSD, Schizophrenia) and substance use); and anger management issues. I feel very blessed to to have such a diverse education and work experience that I know have better prepared me to help individuals who need encouragement; prayer and God-driven support without the fear of judgment or condemnation.
