My name is Angela Turner and I have a Bachelor of Religious Education from Tyndale University and a Master of Counselling from Briercrest Seminary. I offer virtual sessions on Mondays and Fridays.
As an image bearer of God, you are uniquely made and intrinsically valuable. This understanding informs the way I sit with you and how we approach healing together. I invite your unique life experience and personality to inform the way we approach healing to build a strategy that resonates most deeply with who you are made to be. In addition, I understand the Holy Spirit to be the Great Healer and we invite the Trinity into each session to move in ways that are healing and true.
I use a compassionate, integrative approach informed by several evidence based modalities such as: Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, EMDR, ACT and PolyVagal Theory.
I have experience with PTSD, CPTSD, sexual abuse, domestic violence, abuse, anxiety, medical trauma, co-dependency, people pleasing and inner child work.
Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist
My interactions with newcomers to Canada who had significant trauma from displacement and war inspired me to get more education on how to help bring healing to trauma.
In addition, I found that I needed more skills to help with the complicated issues that were surfacing during my day to day ministry at my church.
