While pastoring in several communities, Jesus kept sending me people to walk with. These hurting souls came from all backgrounds. One day a woman came into my office and asked, "I want you to tell me how a good Assembly of God woman finds herself in a Methodist pastor's office to find healing?" We figured it was Jesus. He's the great physician. He knows the need of every heart, the hidden hurts, defenses, and longings. I find counseling is more about listening and obeying than anything else. Jesus does the healing. Sometimes healing is a long journey, but always worth while.
My Christian Faith and My Professional Practice
Jesus caught hold of my heart and healed me over a longterm process. As a healed sexual abuse survivor, I understand how long the healing journey can take and know how trauma injures a heart. I work with individuals and couples, use IFS and theophostic prayer and other healing methods as needed.
