About
I am a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, soon to drop the associate label. I am trained in an Adlerian institution following Alfred Adler psychotherapy, who said “Meanings are not determined by situations, but we determine ourselves by the meanings we give situations”. I became a marriage and family therapist in 2019. Prior to working here at MNCCC I had been an information technologist for decades. A career change happened when my marriage of twenty years suddenly dissipated, and my situation changed to being a ‘single’ adult again. Being devastated, I determined myself to have a new meaning to be someone who helps those in similar situations to have the best outcome. This past year I spent in Cairo, Egypt working with couples and individuals involved in Christian ministry who were having difficulty. I think it important that we involve the Lord God in all issues in life along with many proven psychological therapies to enable us to become the people God desires us to be.
Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist
Nearly 30 years ago my wife surprised me with a request of a divorce which threw my life into a whirlwind. A safe and thriving home for 3 children was completely turned inside out. I never want to have this happen to another home and have committed my life to prevent such destruction happening again. A home that allows the Lordship of God in it can become the greatest beacon of hope for a neighborhood and beyond.
