About

At **New Birth Family Counseling, Inc.**, we believe true healing addresses the whole person, mind, body, and spirit. Our mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based mental health care rooted in Christian values, while honoring each client's unique journey and personal relationship with God.

**Dr. Regina Ransom**, Founder and Clinical Director, is a marriage and family therapist, and holistic health practitioner, with extensive experience working with individuals, couples, families, children, veterans, and those navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Dr. Ransom integrates traditional psychotherapy approaches with holistic wellness principles and offers Christian counseling for those who desire to incorporate their faith into the therapeutic process. She has advanced training in trauma-informed care, EMDR, Brainspotting, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and somatic-based interventions.

Joining our team is **Melissa Gone, MSW, ASW**, a bilingual (English/Spanish) Associate Clinical Social Worker who provides compassionate, culturally responsive care to adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Melissa utilizes evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, EMDR-informed interventions, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Gottman Method principles. She is passionate about creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to heal. Melissa is supervised by Diamond Griffin, LCSW #92676.

At New Birth Family Counseling, we recognize that faith can be an important source of strength and resilience. For clients seeking Christian counseling, we thoughtfully integrate biblical principles, prayer, and Scripture into treatment when clinically appropriate and aligned with the client's preferences. Our goal is to help individuals and families experience restoration, renewed hope, and emotional wellness while growing in their relationship with God.

Whether you are struggling with the effects of trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges, we are honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and transformation.

Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist

I became a Christian therapist because I believe that true healing encompasses more than addressing symptoms—it involves caring for the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. My Christian faith has been the foundation that has guided me through both personal and professional seasons of life, and it continues to shape how I view hope, restoration, grace, and the inherent worth of every individual.

As a therapist, I have witnessed how emotional wounds, relational struggles, grief, trauma, and life's hardships can leave people feeling lost and disconnected. I believe that God created each person with purpose and dignity, and that healing often occurs when individuals are provided with a safe space to process their experiences while being reminded that they are not alone in their journey.

At New Birth Family Counseling, our practice is centered around a Christian foundation. We strive to embody Christ's compassion, mercy, and love in every interaction. For clients who desire faith-based counseling, we thoughtfully integrate biblical principles, prayer, and Scripture into the therapeutic process in a way that is respectful, clinically appropriate, and aligned with their personal beliefs and goals. We also recognize that every person's faith journey is unique, and we meet clients exactly where they are without judgment or condemnation.

My role as a Christian therapist is not to have all the answers, but to walk alongside others as they seek healing, wisdom, and hope. I consider it a privilege to help individuals, couples, and families navigate life's challenges while drawing upon both evidence-based therapeutic practices and the timeless truths found in God's Word. I believe that through God's grace, transformation is possible, brokenness can be restored, and no one is beyond the reach of hope.
