About

As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I work with individuals, couples and families.

Most people come to therapy because of problems in personal relationships, or emotional difficulties that keep them from having the life they have longed for. I believe you were made to heal and find wholeness in your life and relationships.

My specialty is to help people find meaningful secure attachments with significant people in their lives. Many couples come to therapy an average of 6 years too late, after the problems have grown to the point of hopelessness or frustration. Even in situations that seem hopeless, it is possible to resolve conflicts and to find comfort and true connection.

Additionally, I have specific training to work with Sexual Addiction, both with the person struggling with the addiction and their spouse. Addiction is a painful trap that robs a person of their ability to enjoy freedom and experience true joy, and it hurts those with whom they are in relationship. Taking the right steps and working through the process will open up new ways of living and relating.

I have been trained in understanding brain health, and how to implement strategies to restore healthy brain function. Healthy brain function is crutial to good cognition and a healthy emotional life. Using the latest technology in brain research, interventions to calm the brain, soothe anxiety, and ease depression are available.

Each of us is a "spiritual being having a human experience." Who we are and who we perceive God to be are core to our existence. From that reality, all of our life is lived out. We are called to live out of the heart that the Lord originally gave us. However, because we live in a fallen world, our hearts have been wounded and we lose the original vision of who we are. Wounding hides us from the true, loving nature of the Father. Through work in healing prayer and other spiritual exercises, these wounds can be changed by coming into the healing experience that opens up the reality of who God is and how much we are loved.

Additional Training:
Master's Degree in Pastoral Counseling
Attachment Therapy
Sexual Addiction
Neuro-emotional Therapy
Amen Clinic Affiliate/staff therapist

Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist

I became a Christian Therapist because, since my teens, I had a passion to help individuals grow and be able to be all that they were intended to be. I understood that life often brings wounds and distortions to our souls that make the work of truly becoming who The Lord intended for us to be very difficult. I began to pray about how to help people heal and remove some of the distortions and scars so that they could connect more authentically with the Lord, others, and themselves.

Through the years of full time ministry in my 20's and 30's, I put what the Lord had taught me into practice in my own life and helped others grow. Years later, after developing a Christ-centered Abortion Recovery program for women and one for men, I felt the Lord was directing me to go into therapy professionally. The graduate program I chose emphasized the integration of therapy principles with the truths of Scripture because without being able to integrate Christian Spirituality, healing of the person, mind, body, and soul, would not be as complete.

I love being able to draw upon my training in full-time Christian work, Bible College classes, and my own journey with the Lord to help others grow.
