About
Hello and welcome to my directory page :)
I am Dr. Sarah Moreland, and I'm so grateful you're here checking things out.
I began life coaching in 2021 because after spending several years as clinician and counselor, I began to understand that not everyone needs the higher level of care that clinical psychotherapy/counseling offer. Folks were coming into the clinical space because their insurance covered it not necessarily because they needed the "high octane" interventions psychotherapy offered. There seemed to be a large gap between a basic need for guidance during life's tough spots and the deep psychological "dives" that are needed, and that occur, in psychotherapy when mental illness (such as clinical depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, personality disorders etc.) are present.
The life coaching that I offer provides individuals the opportunity to receive partnership, support, mentorship, education, and guidance, where needed, in a non-clinical framework. With me, life coaching for individuals, couples, and families provides a private "psychology tutor" experience framed in Biblical principles with a focus toward prayer, teaching, scripture, spiritual disciplines, and spiritual growth.
The typical coaching client might feel stuck in their relationships with others, be struggling with dating, having a difficult time in their professional lives or in school, and/or in their relationship with Jesus.
Clients who receive my coaching services are not typically struggling with mental illness issues but are seeking assistance in achieving personal goals and life satisfaction. Several of my clients are in psychotherapy with licensed clinicians while seeing me in tandem. *For individuals who are facing mental health issues, clinical intervention with a licensed clinical professional is highly encouraged as these services are not provided in life coaching.
My mission for life coaching is to help individuals meet their life goals by discovering who they are in Jesus Christ. The way this happens is to develop/fortify their identity through real intimacy with Him. Spiritual discipleship and psychology education are the modes by which we will journey along this path, together.
My life coaching framework adheres to the belief that the Bible is the perfect word of God given to us through the power of the Holy Spirit. Additionally, the coaching work is rooted in the belief that the Bible was written “for” Christians not “to” Christians. So it is therefore our responsibility (as Christians) to read holy scripture responsibly--that is in the way the original Biblical authors intended. It is true that God’s power is perfected in our weakness. And, because of this, we can know with confidence that there is no struggle we experience that God won’t make for the good.

My Christian Faith and My Professional Practice
When I became a widow at the age of 35, I had a six month old baby to care for and felt completely overwhelmed and alone. I don't ever want anyone to feel (or believe the lie) that they are alone and that life is hopeless. My goal is to partner with individuals 14 and older including couples and families who are in need of support, education, guidance, and/or mentorship in the areas of grief, relationships, dating, marriage, and spritual/church/religious wounding.
