About

!!! EVENING APPOINTMENTS NOW AVAILABLE !!!

Oftentimes, life doesn't turn out the way we had planned. Still other times, the plans we made aren't what we thought they'd be at all!!

It is often said that God's favorite joke is when we make plans. Life doesn't turn out according to our plans. That was never promised. But these times of incongruence between our will and God's give us the opportunity to lean on the Lord-- and each other-- for help.

The truth is that we could all use a bit of help — sometimes even professional help. And that's where I come in. I have the privilege of working with individuals, couples, and families from the tween years through late adulthood during times of transition, sadness, strife and downright crisis.

I use multiple strategies and tools in counseling, but I start from a client-centered approach. It stems from the idea that we all need an atmosphere of authentic acceptance and empathy in order to reach our full potential. Therefore, my primary goal in therapy is to establish an open, trusting therapist-client relationship based on unconditional positive regard. Then I'll use my education and training to devise ways to help clients grow, despite a wide array of issues like:
troubled relationships (due to everything from poor communication to conflict management, from "roommate syndrome" to infidelity)
premarital and marriage counseling
depression
anxiety
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
chronic illness and chronic pain
eating disorders
infertility/pregnancy loss
post-partum depression
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
fears and phobias
career counseling/coaching
life transitions
grief and loss.

I feel honored to be a counselor; it is a privilege to be trusted with someone's deepest thoughts, feelings, goals, and dreams. I love helping people from all walks of life as they face their most frightening fears, surmount their biggest challenges, and experience their most defining moments. Counseling will produce both laughter and tears; it can be hard work, and each person will progress at a different rate. But I am confident that the benefits of counseling far outweigh the costs. I look forward to meeting you and to walking through the counseling experience together.

Why I Became a Professional Christian Therapist

The Lord has been my strength, my shield, my parent, and my friend. Whenever I have suffered and struggled, God has carried me through to the other side.
Moreover, the Lord is the best counselor that ever was! So I learn by God's example to be loving, accepting, empathetic, loving, and kind. Mostly though, I allow God to work through me; and I serve God by serving my clients.
